At the beginning of June, Domicele Jonauskaite has been invited to talk about our research at the Laboratory of Psychophysics (LPSY) at EPFL by Prof. Michael Herzog.

In his work, Prof. Herzog tries to understand the complexities of vision. He leads research projects focused on visual information processing, employing advanced neuroimaging techniques such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), electroencephalography (EEG), and mathematical modelling to decode the mechanisms underlying hierarchical processing of visual stimuli. Researchers at LPSY are also exploring the application of their findings to new technologies, trying to understand why it is so difficult to create artificial systems that could detect unknown objects in a similar to human way.

Domicele shared our ongoing research projects from the domain of Psychology. She was delighted to answer the questions of curious students and to encounter diverse approaches to the study of colour.

We are looking forward to more meetings with researchers from EPFL in the future!
