Visit to the Swiss Center for Design and Health
Domicele Jonauskaite, Christine Mohr and Anastazja Adamczyk have recently visited the Swiss Center for Design and Health (SCDH) in Biel, Switzerland. SCDH is a newly established center that tests peoples’ impressions of various spaces. A team composed of designers, psychologists, architects and engeeneirs constructs classrooms, hospital rooms, or elderly homes, manipulating various elements of the environments such as colour, lighting, textiles or acoustics. Then, they run tests to understand how people feel in those varied environments.
It was very exciting to see the impressive facility, and explore the possibilities of crafting controlled environments, to then perhaps test some very specific research questions related to our field of research.
The visit was an excellent opportunity to exchange and discuss potential collaboration ideas. We thank the SCDH team for the warm welcome and are looking forward to future encounters.
