Dr Dominique Grisard talks about pink at the Cognitive and Affective Regulation Laboratory (CARLA) weekly meeting!
Dr Dominique Grisard from University of Basel shared her research during the Cognitive and Affective Regulation Laboratory (CARLA) meeting. Dr Grisard is a historian and Senior Lecturer at the Center for Gender Studies, and she directs the Swiss Center for Social Research (CSR).
Her long-standing research interests include consumer culture, the visual arts, childhood, femininity, whiteness, sexuality, prisons, terrorism, and color, with a particular emphasis on pink and rose.
During her presentation she shared a historical and sociological perspective on how pink has emerged as a colour category. She also spoke about the interesting links between femininity, floral motives and colour.
